"I hate it when sci-fi shows, or shows that deal with high technology, dumb it down for audiences," Brannon Braga told IGN Film Force during a visit to the set of THRESHOLD, which premiered this past Friday on CBS.
Changes and re-shoots were made since the original preview at Comicon. "It's still a sci-fi thriller, a CSI meets X-Files type of thing," says Braga. "We added a couple of additional scares. We wanted to up the fright quotient a little bit, but we felt we could use a little more character development.
"It's that balancing act. I think, for a long while anyway, X-Files did really well. You know, you could tune into X-Files and just enjoy it, even if you only watched five episodes a year. But you have to be mindful to satisfy the continuing storyline. This has perhaps an even stronger continuing storyline than X-Files. This is really a season-long investigation."
