"Yeah. Got gas..." It's almost up there with, "Every bone— shattered. Organs—leaking vital fluids. Slight headache. Loss of appetite. Smithers, I'm going to die..." :D
When the Jacks are headlocked, can you tell which one was RDA and which one was Dan Shea?

I loved the return of Robo-team. I thought they had great potential when they first appeared. And the playground fight between Jacks was brilliant.
I liked the female Goa'uld who interrogated the robot Sam and T'ealc, and was a little disappointed when she went geographic. I felt she had great potential.

I was a little disapointed that they didn't go into some of the differences between the real SG-1 and the Robot team.
I'm still curious how they got the guns and supplies and the uniforms. ;)

This one was directed by MS. He said he had been hoping for a nice, simple one. I don't think he could have got a harder one!
Loved the head-lock scene. Loved the two Teal'cs avenging 'their' father.

This was one of my favorites. When Jack and Jack started fighting was a hoot.It was pretty good stuff though, Teal'c got revenge for his father, sad that they had to expire. What happened to Harlan (that was his name wasn't it) he sure got the short end of the stick . Poor guy.

I was waiting for the robots to make another appearance and my wish was granted! I was kinda confused at the beginning cos they were using their old weaponry which made me think for a bit, lol.
It's a shame we didn't get to see what the robot SG-1 did to free the people of Juna (?) in the first place. At least, I think it was them.........wasn't it?

It real SG-1 that saved them the first time, Then Cronus comes in ships and subjects them again and then robot SG-1 arrive.

a pretty dang good directing debut for MS.
never been a big fan of cronus, but i liked him here more than usual.
carters wig was a lot better than it was in point of view :p
RDA was hilarious.
MS got beheaded, which was.... interesting....
aw who am i kidding i love it when they do things like that to main characters without consequences. plus i thought it was a pretty good way to dispose of him for the duration of the episode.
chris judge teaming up with chris judge? nice.
plus, didn't they get a mothership out of this one? damn those tok'ra... and that star. (next ep)

O'Neill's confrontation with robot O'Neill was the highlight for me. I especially loved the subtle Six Million Dollar Man reference: "bet-ter, stronger, faster." All the more funny because robot O'Neill is not just the ultimate "bionic" man, he's also an Air Force colonel, just like Steve Austin.

It was a good episode but I didn't find it all that memorable. True, it did have a lot of funny moments, but nothing that made me earmark the episode for future viewings. I think I would have liked for the robot story line to end at Tin Man, having me always guess as to what they were up to. Instead of the finite end of Double Jeopardy.

I just watched the audio commentary from MS and that other guy - I believe he was some visual effects supervisor, anywho.. It was my first commentary to listen to and it has got me wanting to hear more. It was very interesting to hear all their thoughts on every little thing. I didn't realize how difficult this episode was to shoot.

I think they killed off the robots way too fast. It would have been interesting how the team relationship evolved with all of them being robots. It would have been interesting to see how the team dynamics and all would have changed had the real SG-1 been downloaded into robots...
Sort of like a AU but in the same universe. Not to mention I love and pity those guys. It cannot have been easy. And they couldn't stop being SG-1 either. That was interesting.
This episode was a lot of fun and a little sad too.

I liked the female Goa'uld who interrogated the robot Sam and T'ealc, and was a little disappointed when she went geographic. I felt she had great potential.
I agree, she was just the right type of evil, and a good actress. But she obviously wasn't a 'god', just a goa'uld underling of sorts.
I enjoyed this episode a fair deal. I'm impressed/pleased to hear that MS directed it. I love how involved the actors are with the production/direction of the show. I think it is part of what makes it such a great series.
Double Jack is always great (although I like double tech-talk Sam too) -- it's hilarious how they play off each other. As mentioned, Sam's 'Sirs!' was pretty funny too.
I don't like Cronus one bit (I think he is a flabby looking fabio type with really bad hair) and so I was glad to see him die. It was incredibly cool that SG1 was actually able to get control of the mothership!

Also, the "better" was how Harlan kept saying it in TIN MAN. I was wondering why the real SG-1 wasn't more worried about what the robot team had been doing around the galaxy, in their name. It would seem that would hae been another reason to go get the robot team, maybe somehow force the gate on Harlan's planet to stop working, after they returned them there. of course, since they were all damaged not sure if any of them returned to Harlan's planet now.

Wish I could've seen much more of their interactions with each other!:
Tin O'Neill: We're not finished pal!
O'Neill: I so OWN you!
And it reminds me of something O'Neill said in Point Of View in..season 2 sometime (alternate reality ep) "Imagine the combined IQ of 2 Carters!" They would've been so interesting to watch..!

It sounds a bit nerdy but the first time I watched this one and they came out of the stargate I thought what happened to the P90's. I thought they'd put the episode order back to front. DOH! :o

A fun episode! I saw this for the first time yesterday on Sci Fi and I loved it? It shows that an episode can be both humorus and serious at the same time! The performances were good and the looks on everyones faces when the robot Daniel's head got blown off is classic!

This ep was entertaining just for the fact that it had the kickass return of Harlan. Comtraya! How can anyone not like that guy? I love it when old plotlines get tied up and this episode is a prime example. Daniel's head getting lopped clean off was quite cool. Robo Jack shooting with the two pistols was quite badass as well.

Definately a memorable episode, but in all of the production notes people are calling it "A huge episode". For example:
At the September 2000 GATECON convention in Vancouver, Christopher Judge ("Teal'c") stated that Shanks was handling his directorial debut very well -- and that "Double Jeopardy" would be the biggest episode since the pilot movie, "Children of the Gods."
SG-1 writer/producer Joseph Mallozzi had the following to say about this episode: "[Michael Shanks'] directorial debut went well -- although, quite frankly, I'm sure it was somewhat of a hellish experience for him. The episode was HUUUGE -- but we watched the almost finished cut last week and it looks terrific."
Was it just me or did this episode not quite live up to what people said about it. I suppose the different hairstyles/wardrobes and side by side effects would be a lot of work. However, on screen it came out as just another run of the mill Episode except for the Mother Ship of course.

2 Jacks. How can I not like this episode? Most here agree that the 2 quarelling Jacks are pretty hilarious.
I am sad that they killed off the robots. I expected more episode mileage from them. :(

This was a good fun shootemup episode. I agree with some of the other posters though that putting the robots in such a 'light' episode didn't do justice to them.
They were awesome, and so deeply thought out in their first episode. Now they just 'happen' to be in 4 situations that kill each of them, what are the chances of the entire robot team dying and the entire non robot team being ok? Also the robots are designed to be stronger, smarter, and faster than their human counterparts.
I would have prefered a story exploring what they've been doing to keep themselves busy on the planet, what they've learned, how they've changed, and save the shoot em up for shallower characters. But anways, good episode, just wish they hadn't all died, and I would have liked to know more about their 'alternate' lives.
Like I said in the post on the first robot episode, SG-1 would have been much better off having them act as a sort of off planet version of their team, set up a lab in the factory and have them be the brains of the bunch, though now with powerpacks they can move - keep them out of battle and have them research alien technology - they practically have computers installed in their brains, in addition to an 11,000 year old alien that was perfectly willing to help and had nothing better to do. Fun episode, but it is a shame to waste so much potential on a single quick 4 death episode.

Finally, sometime last week, some website put together a list of their favorite episode titles. Alas, Stargate failed to make the list. To rectify that oversight, I’ve decided to put together a list of My Top 10 Favorite Stargate Titles:
**snip**
10) Double Jeopardy: The audience sits there wondering “Why the hell is this episode called Double Jeopardy?” until the end of the first act when Daniel Jackson gets decapitated, at which point they suddenly realize they’ve been following the android versions of our heroes (last scene in Tin Man). Double the SG-1 = Double the jeopardy.

I never understood why they couldn't repair the robots... besides daniels head being blown off and damaged, could they not fix the other ones?
Why couldn't harlm also make more then one copy of himself? he needed people to maintain his world... seems like more copies of himself would work.

For all of us who complain about the lack of follow-up stories, here's a great one. Teal'c avenges his father. Yet another system lord is dead. Earth has a honkin' new space ship (for now). But poor Harlan has lost his androids.
Next up: Teal'c shows he's got plenty of revenergy left when Tanith escapes the Tok'ra. And "the goa'uld who will not stay dead" returns.

No that is why Tealc didn't work right the first time is because Harlim couldn't choose between the Jaffa and symbiote mind
Dave2

Is that the reason why the ship lands down with all those Jaffa onto the pyramid in last minute of the episode?? Where do we see a followup of Teal'c leading a Jaffa army of 1000 former servants of Cronus from that ship?

Since we are told that the android SG1 couldn't stay away from their power source for more than 72 hours, how were they ever able to guarantee that they wouldn't get stuck on one of their own missions for longer than 72 hours?
(I know, I know.......that's one of the questions I shouldn't be asking......)
For that matter, how is it we never heard of this rogue SG1 team fighting goa'ulds until our SG1 got over to the planet Juna?

Well, if you know you're going to 'die' if you stay away too long I'm sure you'll keep a keen eye on the time. They were bored to death by staying at Altair and wanted to do what they were good at; explore the galaxy. To be able to do that they had to compromise and make sure they didn't stay away too long.
As for no one ever hearing about this rogue team, I imagine their paths have never crossed before. The galaxy is a big place and with their improved intellect, I'm sure the androids could figure out a way to stay away from the real SG-1 (I imagine they could replicate the list of planets from the SGC and perhaps start at the bottom). They also wouldn't hear stories from allies of an ally about this rogue team, because those people would simply assume the androids are the real SG-1.

It's not that you shouldn't be asking; it's that you should be able to accept that there isn't a single, definitive answer. That said, they couldn't ever guarantee they wouldn't get stuck and die. Given the way JackMarkII acted at the end of the episode where they were created--I don't think he'd have a problem with that.

Since the SGI got Cronus's ship, what is the capability of speed of travel of such ships among planets and solar systems? Where was SGC supposed to park such a ship originally, and were all the Jaffa eliminated?

Where did the Android SG1 team learn a disappearing act, i.e. the way the android O'Neil did it twice? And if they could do it, why couldn't they disappear when placed in danger, i.e. the android Daniel?
Was there any special reason that Michael Shanks didn't want to play the real Daniel in this episode?

Michael Shanks was the director for this one and his screen time was reduced as he concentrated on this, imho, particuarly tough episode to direct (with all the "double SG-1" stuff in it) ...:daniel:

Tuesday night and another ep of SG1.
1. Rewatching, I feel stupid for not having clocked that we weren't dealing with the original SG1 first time around.
2. As it was, once Daniel's head rolls off Mum and I looked at each other and said "Right". Really was not expecting to see Robo-SG1 again.
3. Cronos really didn't have a clue what had hit him! :)
4. Interaction between everyone with the doubles was a bit nuts - pity the doubles all got scratched.
Solid ep.

Not sure how fast it can travel, 25, 000 - 30000 times the speed of light? I know its slower than the hyper drives the asgard use. As for what the SGC does with the ship I think, although memory is foggy, they give it to the Tok'ra. I seem to remember Jack taunting them about it
This episode was an average one for me. I liked it, but it's not one of my favourites - I would have been happy to not have seen the andriod/robot SG1 again. I never realized Michael Shanks directed the episode until now though.

Watch "Exodus" and "Enemies" to find out what they did with Cronus' ship. Earth authorities loaned it to the Tok'ra to transport them to a new base of operations. This is explained more in the episode(s).
I'm quite sure the ship would have been parked in orbit above earth had they gotten it back to earth. It's far too big to let it land somewhere on earth; it would no doubt be spotted by somebody who wasn't authorized to know this sort of information.
And I mean no offense, but why don't you watch all the episodes before asking all these questions? Many of your questions are answered in later episodes. If you find out the answers now, it will spoil (a bit) the later episodes

They were loaning it to the Tok'ra in exchange for them teaching the Tauri how to operate it. Then it got blown up

I listened to the commentary for the first time and was pleased to hear Michael Shanks' voice!

I really liked this episode. Loved the Jack-Jack moment, especially when they're face to face for the first time (after they get on the planet).
So Cronus is dead, killed by the badasses known as SG-1.
The Commentary:
The pyramid was based on the one from the original movie.
Shanks reminded us not to let RDA touch any prop because he'll play with it, like the cup he drank from.
The wrestling scene (between the Jacks) was RDA's idea.
Everyone wanted Daniel's head near his body during the Carter/Teal'c torture scene, but Shanks said no (he insisted on it).
Tomorrow, the finale of Season 4, the end of the section of our journey through Stargate SG-1's run.

One of my favourite episodes of Season 4. I just love 'double' stuff, when it turns up on Sci Fi. I particularly like the way Jack deals with 'himself'. Now he can experience for himself what others have to deal with! LOL!
The bit at the end as the robot Jack shuts down is sad, not so different after all. I like to think that Harlan repaired them, and made a new Daniel, having kept the original upload of him on his computer for just this sort of event. The 'other' SG-1 were back doing what they like doing and helped kick Ori and Lucian Alliance backsides.

A liked this ep. My first thought was that maybe the robot versions had already been there. Nope other way around.
Good to see Teal'c get his revenge on Cronus. Even if it was his robot twin that did the killing.
Yay free Ha'tak. Pity it doesn't last long.

I agree with Michael. I mean, it would be a bit sick, wouldn't it? It was bad enough seeing his head being blown off.. >.<;
I thought you weren't doing the commentaries anymore...? (Glad you still are, though :) )

So these robots aren't real to you and don't deserve to be treated/regarded the same as a human, yet you make a fuss about Jack not considering stored/preserved biological samples as a living race in Scorched Earth?

Of course not but a robot head is not as disgusting a human head being removed from the body. Look at how many times in Star Trek they removed robot heads

Well, it's just that it he looks exactly like Daniel, and would look as if Daniel's head has been chopped off, which would be at least a little disconcerting, right? I mean, in Star Trek, I don't think there have been any robot copies of living humans, although, I may be wrong and have forgotten something...
But in this case, it was a perfect copy (at least on the outside) of one of the main characters, and my favourite character no less. I don't know about anyone else, but it would make me feel a little uneasy seeing his (or any of the other three's) decapitated head next to his body... but maybe that's just me...

I like how we have this 4 epiosd arc in S4 to demostrate our latest foil with Apophis. An arc that starts with Double Jeopardy. Multiple rewatches has shown me how good they were at making the robot SG1 look like the real one. I really like the details of the subtle differences between the two. Its a fun action show to demostrate them killing Cronus and stealing a hatak. Not really surprising that the robot duplicates all died though. Like I said nothing ground breaking but it was still enjoyable to watch some action and kill off another system Lord.

1. All the robots dying was really convenient.
2. Robo-O'Neill has black hair??
3. Did Harlan make new copies?

Yes, after a few dissapointing ep's (IMO) SG-1 is back on track.

And as a bonus, Daniel switched the stupid looking hat, with the bandana - great
