Lindsey Novak Discussion/Appreciation

I’ve been thinking about this over the weekend and I loved seeing Dr. Novak again. She was great in Prometheus Unbound and wonderful in Atlantis. The actress playing her has such great comedic timing. Her interaction with Hermiod was pure gold. I hope we seem much more of her… if not in Atlantis then maybe she can join Mitchell’s SG-1 team.

What were your reactions toward her?

I was just thinking that I was glad she was on Siege 3 because I enjoyed her so much on SG1 last year. She does have great comedic timing and awesome facial ecpressions:) I hope that since the Daedalus will be making regular stops in Atlantis now, we will see much more of her in the future I don't know if I'd want to see her on Mitchell's team but maybe on Atlantis to replace Grodin

While I don't have any overwhelming fondness to the character, it's nice to see some support to counter the negative reactions I've seen elsewhere on the board. And it's nice to see how the minor characters in the SG universe are fairing as the years go by. I'm still waiting for an episode about Walter. :b

I don't know bout you guys, but i was pleasantly surprised to see Doctor Lindsay Novak show up in Siege 3

She's probably better known as Hiccup Chick from PU but now is apparantly working in the engineering section of the Daedalus and seems to be the human 'keeper' of Hermoid, the new asgard character

I for one liked her in Seige 3. Yes, she was annoying in PU, but her interactions with Hermoid were absolutely priceless.

I for one hope that she continues and becomes a slightly recurring character.

Having Novak as the Asgard liason was a stoke of genius, IMO. She's well able to carry both their personalities.

Novak is not exactly a Jacob or a Bra'tac, but it is sure nice to see a female regular recurring character who isn't there for her boobs.

I agree, the selection of Novak was pure casting genius. She was great in PU, and even better in Seige Part 3. I hope they plan on keeping her around as a permanent member of the Daedalus. She and Hermy most definitely have "chemistry". :D

No I don't think that is her... ? I think her and Hermiod have their own compartment / room / space on the ship.

Anywhooz, How funny would it be if Mckay and Novak were to meet. I bet she'd start hicoughing (hicupping?) again! haha.

Also, in her two episodes we’ve already seen some progress (she overcame her hiccups) so I can really see her growing more confident and coming into her own as the show progresses. I’d definitely like to see her story unfold.

I really do think she’s got "Dr. Beckett-like" potential, someone who was brought in as a recurring character and steals every scene they're in. Don’t get me wrong I don’t think they should make her a regular (at the cost of an already established regular) but a few episodes here and there would be great. I can already see her hiccups returning after being 5 minutes in the same room with McKay.

Well, I think Dr. Novak made a great secondary character and worked very well with Hermy. I'm hopeful that she does return as a recurring guest character on either SGA or SG-1 or both.

It's nice to see "secondaries" that are so good, they stand out, so to speak. If I were one of the all powerful PTB, I'd take full advantage of any character, in a small role, that generates a positive audience response. Just makes sense.... :)

Rampage's Foursome tees off (source: playbackmag)

Langley, BC - Shooting on the comedy feature The Foursome wrapped Dec. 3 after three weeks. Produced by Vancouver's Rampage Entertainment and adapted from the Norm Foster play, the picture is about four buddies who get together for a round of golf - but all bring their spouses.

According to producer Carrie Wheeler, the fall weather in Langley has cooperated for the mostly outdoor shoot. This is the former talent agent's first feature.

Rampage's Gavin Wilding (Suddenly Naked) is the supervising producer, while Bill Dear (Harry and the Hendersons) directs. Kevin Dillon (Entourage), John Shaw (Da Vinci's Inquest), Chris Gauthier (Ill Fated) and Paul Jarrett (On the Corner) star with Ellie Harvie (Terminal City).

The script was adapted by writer/actor Jackson Davies (A Beachcombers Christmas), remaining faithful to Foster's play except for the inclusion of the golfers' significant others, who are only referred to in the stage version.

Funding for the $4-million film, shot entirely at the Newlands Golf & Country Club in Langley, came from presales to The Movie Network and Movie Central, along with B.C. Film, the CanWest Western Independent Producers Fund and Rampage.

Wheeler says the filmmakers are hoping for a theatrical run before the pay-service premieres. Screen Media is the film's Canadian distributor.

I was just thinking about her yesterday!!!!

I adore Novak to bits! She was insanely funny in PU, and reminded me a lot of Daniel-on-a-sugar-rush: She's just so bouncy, wide-eyed, and excitable.

What really sold me on the character was when she was hiccuping in the briefing room aboard the Prometheus and after she hiccuped once she said, "damn it to hell!" and had to drink her water upside down ROFLMAO

After that, Daniel had a hard time picking up where he left off! lol

Yep definitely the hiccups! And when she was all nervous in CM she called Weir sir! Her describing Kavanaugh to Weir was great. I found the whole interogation type scene with her in to be rather hilarious. :D

Novak is a brilliant character and well-played by Ellie...

I really like her, and I hope to see more of her. First time I saw her in Prometheus Unbound she was hilarious...I couldn't stop laughing. And when I saw her back on the Daedalus I cheered. I just love the way she interacts with Hermiod and with other people. That interrogation in CM was just too hilarious...

I think they should keep her on Atlantis if she's up for it (since she declined it at first, she says so herself in Prometheus Unbound)...and else she can definitely stay on the Daedalus.

I was just thinking about Novak the other day. I agree completely that they should bring her into Atlantis. We haven't seen her since season 2 I think.
