War Of The Worlds Rip Off (slight Spoilers)

First off i just want to clarify that i thought WOTW was a fantastic movie and despite what i say i really liked it, ALOT! anyway the tripods monsters/mechines when I first saw them looked a bit fimiliar. then i realised, in the first episodes of justice legue the aliens used giant organic mechines with death rays and had 3 legs

i couldnt find a picture from WOTW but if you saw it you'd know what i was talking about. i also beliave their are creatures like this in half-life

Umm... starting TWO SEPARATE THREADS about the exact same thing when, as scoobing pointed out, this is already being discussed on the "official" War of The Worlds thread? Attend, ragnorok! Look about before you post stuff.

As for WOTW "copying" things... is it worth pointing out that War of the Worlds came first? Therefore, if anyone is "copying", it's the others who are borrowing ideas from WOTW rather than the other way around?
