:D Besides the fact that they made a REALLY great Stargate Magazine I was just wondering if and one had read it.... ;) Well in this magazine, they have a great article..."Anatomy of a Wormhole" by Andrew Hamilton and Kynton Chan....did anyone read that?
I love Kerr's solution for a rotating black hole-and the cetriifugal force produced by the rotion.(its genius) :D This is what I dont get,Why is the wormhole (the one within the balck hole and white hole) unstable? Its says that all the matter inside the black hole is concntrated intocentral singulariy. But the moment you introduce any reall stuff, then the wormhole collapses...... :rolleyes:Do we have anyone out there that can justify that for me a little bit? If not I really don't mind because I know no one out there is Enstein..... Thanks!

I would like to help, I would also like to read the article it sounds interesting, if you could find me a link to it I would read it and answer for you.

In your post you reffer to things stated in the magazine, in the theory of this man, Kerr, I cannot answer because I have not read his theory. Also, you are going to have to be more specific than, "real stuff."

If you could find me a link to the article this would be best, or find me a store in Canada that sells this issue of the magazine so I can go and buy it.

I appoligze that I cannot help you right now, but if I read the article I probably will be able to.

I read the article, but it really doesn't sound like a 'stargate' wormhole to me. It was talking about theoretical wormholes that might occur as some sort of natural phenomenon mostly. The Stargate's wormhole is completely artificial, and has virtually nothing to do with Black Holes. So it is a bit difficult to justify the article as explaining a Stargate wormhole. A theoretically real one... maybe. I might try to get into a more complicated explanation later, but right now I'm just too tired. sorry... :p

I would think that a reasonably sized book store might carry it. My grocery store carries it... so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to find it somewhere. :p If nothing else, you might see if your book store could order it or something. ;)

Thank you, I will check it out, because I have never seen the SG-1 Magazine anywhere in Canada, but perhaps I have to look hard. Can anyone tell me what issue it was?

Owen,

Its issue #4....and what your said before about the "real stuff"...(lol) thats what it says in the article! But this is what it says "the moment you introduce any 'real stuff' into the balck hole-and just the tiniest atom would do-then the wormhole collapses." So.... :D :D .....Oh and the article goes on talking about the outer horizon and inner horizon of a black and a white hole and how they are connected to many different universes.
It says something like "One universe connects via a black hole, wormhole and whitehole to a second universe, and if a person from the second universe found them self falling into a white hole (which I don't completely understand because How do you fall into a whitehole if a white hole is like a time-reversed version of a black hole!) Any-who,if a person from the second universe found them self falling into a white hole, they find that it mysteriously converts itslef into another black hole which connects to another universe...and so on."....?....?....?....?.... :S

-thanks bunches AK

does anybody have links to the article? I asked about scans about it a little while ago. Maybe somebody has it now.

Thank you, I have a feeling that I will have to read the article to understand what else is being discussed. The true meaning of "real stuff" could reside in another section of the article, I will definetly look for it, I am sorry that I could not help right away.

If anyone has a link to the article or the name of a canadian book store that carries it, please post, it would be much appreciated.

Is this like Hawking's plan involving a huge ring the size of earth infused with exotic matter to stabilize the wormhole? If so its a bit different that Stargate wormholes. The event horizon is clearly just a phase that chops you apart and whips your bits through the wormhole, which only has to be as big as the energy units you're using to represent the person being transmitted (maybe kerons?).

_Owen_

The event horizon doesn't "chop you up." It dematerializes your matter, or converts it into energy, then the energy is transmitted through the wormhole along with the information that was scanned at the event horizon, so that people can be rematerialized.

I so want to read that magazine!

NONONONONONONONONONO! Its just like a TV! It chops you up into a million tiny pieces and sends you flying through the air until you hit a TV antenna and get put back together on a TV screen!

I'm kidding of course.

Yeah you're right, I probably should have explained some more.

Ya, the united states just takes over the world! :( Oh well, what are you going to do. You know Canada would be the most powerful nation on the planet now if our prime minister John Deifenbaker didn't cancel the Avro Arrow program. :(

I can't say I totally mind not being the 'most powerful on earth'. Its nice and clean (for the most part anyway), there seem to be far less terrorists interested in bombing us, and if all else fails the freezing cold is sure to keep bad guys away!

Lol, I guess you are right, there are many good reasons to not be the most powerful nation on the Earth. However then it might get rid of the popular illusion that all canadians live in igloos. lol.
