What ever happened to spoilers?

This is the season eight section of the website. If you don't want to read spoilers, simply, you shouldn't be reading. Everything in this section is most obviously going to contain spoilers

Thank you Anubis why do people keeping saying that.

BUT....... the TITLE of the thread contains a spoiler. Keep in mind that you can see the title of the most recently active thread on the MAIN PAGE of the gateworld forum, without even going into the season 8 section.

When was the last time we saw Rya'c, it was in the Redemption two parter wasn't it?

I think the last time was in S7, Orpheus.

Yeah, you're right. I forgot about that episode.

I dont see how Ryac being in Season 8 is a spoiler... .. thats like saying Bra'tac or Jacob Carter will be in Season 8, or Duffman will be in the next season of simpsons.

Its almost a give

I think the idea is that some people just don't want to know anything at all about new shows before they see them.

The title of the thread has been changed, before it had a minor spoiler in it. :)

Beckmen
June 13th, 2004, 12:00 AM
Yeah, the fact that Ry'ac is going to be in it isn't a spoiler. It's a minor morsel of information. Of course, to appease the moaning ones you could change the title to "Ryac in Season 8?" with a question mark...

Anyway, seeing Ryac marry would be a cool scene. Teal'c would be so proud, and I'm sure O'Neill and SG-1 would be too.

Anubis
June 13th, 2004, 01:01 AM
[Darren, forgot about the spoiler warning in the thread title. I always forget this one]

Although I do agree with what most people are saying about the spoilers, perhaps the heading of the post could have been Ryac to . . . (Spoilers)?

Anyway, I'm sure Teal'c would be shocked to find out this information, and I'm sure he'll get the information from Bra'tac. I wonder if Teal'c will let him go through with it, and I wonder who it is. Hmmmmm. I've always liked Ryac as a character for Teal'c. I think he's great

I don't think there will be anything sinister about the wedding.

Anubis
June 13th, 2004, 11:15 PM
I'm sure Teal'c will let him go through with it, unless someone gets killed in the process

Someone will probably will :( Well thats my guess..

I think it may be Bra'tac and I think it may be Ishta or possibly even Ryac. But I don't want any three of them to go

The whole idea Rya'c getting married excites me for the main reason that we get a better look at Jaffa culture.I enjoy the idea of getting to see some of their social rituals & comparing them to the typical Tau'ri ones.

I wonder if the Jaffa have their equivalent to "bachelor parties".It could be interesting to see Jack,Daniel & whoever go to Bra'tac's[upon invite to such],expecting one thing, but finding out there's customs involving tests of warrior skills, pain & maybe a little bit of blood shed. Not the typical Tau'ri idea of a bachelor party;)

I am tuning in to this episode for several reasons. I am just dying to see what a Jeffa wedding looks like and what type of decorations they have and how they deal with the before and after parties. Also, we should get a deeper understanding of the ways Jeffa deal with situations

Oh I'm not so sure. Looking at some of the batchelor parties that I've seen, Edinburgh must be full of rebel Jaffas!! ;) :D

Just out of curiosity, what is their source? After CJ first came out with the comment that the episode he wrote would "have a wedding and someone would die" there was a lot of fan speculation about who would be getting married and who would die. Most people assumed it would be Ishta and Teal'c getting married, and when I suggested that Ry'ac could be a potential groom, a bunch of people tried to tell me he was too young (he's not). So, I'm wondering if this is just a rumor? I'm not familiar with the website you are referring to . . . what's the address?

No offence to your forum rules but can't you just maintain some hope that common sense will shine through rather than moaning about not having spoiler space?

We tried the common sense route. Now we have spoiler rules.

From what I have read, it doesn't mean that there WILL be a wedding. Just that Teal'c isn't impressed with the wedding PLANS. The wedding could be called off, not happen during the episode or something like that. There's no guarentee it will happen on-screen.

I will be sad is Bra'tac dies, but if he does I DO hope they have him Ascend because that's what he wants. Like another poter said, he got rid of his "demon", so it should happen.

Anubis
June 17th, 2004, 07:00 AM
It would be great to keep Bra'tac but I really do think he will be the one who dies. Ascension is a possible answer because of all the good he has done, and he has saught his path to the ascension. It is possible

Bra'tac deserves it much more then Daniel did.

I think you may be correct, but it gave Daniel the reason to leave the show. Although I think that more dealings with his ascension should be mentioned in season eight

I don't expect anyone significant to die in Chris Judge's episode.

I brought up that CJ quote ("Someone will get married, and someone will die") in my interview with Joe and Paul, and they were flummoxed. They said no major characters would be biting it, as far as they knew.

Maybe Hammond gets invited and he dies.
Since he's no longer a regular.

i dunno.
I kinda hope it's Ry'ac that will kick the bucket. For some reason i never liked the character.

Another question: Who is the lucky girl,Jaffa maiden, Tok'ra or Goa'uld, and what about her doesn't impress Teal'c the right way?

Per the new Sci-Fi release schedule, looks as though the rumor about Mr. Ry'ac's impending nuptials was true. I didn't realize it even WAS a rumor but I was pretty happy about the confirmation becuase Ry'ac was who I put my money on as the one getting married. :D

It's kind of sentimental... Little Ry'ac, waaaaay back all the way from bloodlines, now all growed up. :o Wonder who he's marrying? Perhaps that little chick from Birthright who Daniel made friends with? That's probably too cliché. lol

Anyway, still feeling triumphant about my guess being right (for once)

I really hope Ry'ac isn't a whinny ***** this season. I understand he was heartbroken when his mother died, but still, he was a Jaffa training under Bray'tac, he should have been able to controll his emotions.

ok i'm glad i'm not alone in thinking that ry'ac is a whiny little brat, maybe ry'ac gets married and then HE dies because it's part of the marrage ritual or something...
nah that's just wishful thinking on my part

I think the idea is that some people just don't want to know anything at all about new shows before they see them.

You might be right, but as far as I'm concerned, if someone doesn't want to know anything about Season 8, they shouldn't be in the Season 8 Forum. And if they read a Season 8 thread, they can't complain about being spoiled. I realize that not everyone sees the same episode on the same day or week, but that is a risk everyone takes when they visit a forum.

I also agree that mentioning a semi-regular character in a thread title isn't really a "spoiler" since it doesn't really give anything away.

Maybe so, but the GW forums has rules for this sort of thing, and the season 8 folder is not an exception... So there ya go. :)

But if an SG-1 fan knows that he/she see sees episodes a week or more after they're shown elsewhere, that person should know that other people have posted about the episode already, and enter the forum at his/her own risk. And I believe the original poster who opened this thread followed all the "rules"-- spoiler notice in thread title and in first thread.

Boy, life would sure be easier if all episodes were aired the same day/week all over the world!!! Who do we talk to about that???
;)

You've actually got to love CJ's humour on and off the show. On screens his funny moment are such simple stares, eyebrow raises and that. Off show he comes up with some pretty decent comedy! :)

How do you think Jack will feel about all this?

You know - that Teal'c's son is getting married. I mean, every father would be proud right?

But Jack. He'll never see his son to get married. Do you think he'll feel a bit put out? I know I would. But I'd still be happy about Rya'c and Teal'c...

So what do you think?

Persephone
August 3rd, 2004, 09:26 AM
Honestly, I can't imagine Jack being anything but pleased. He might be a little sad to think of Charlie, obviously, but not resentful of Teal'c or Ry'ac. He didn't seem to have any undue angsty feelings about Skaara's betrothal, and Skaara was kind of a son figure to Jack.

Ryac would be cool to see again in Season 8. We got to see him in season 7 too. I would also like to see Major Pierce in Season 8 too.
