So I've got this friend who will only watch Stargate with me if it's a Sam'n'Jack episode. Naturally, this gets frustrating because I call her up and say "Guess what's on!" and get "Is it ship? No? Call me when Window of Opportunity is on again..."

SO!! What are your favorite Sam'n'Jack shippy episodes? It can be one that is mostly ship or has a few great ship moments (Window of Opportunity, Broca Divide etc). Include the title and episode number to make it easy for people to find, cuz it's nice. If you want to tack on a few comments about why you like the episode feel free.

To start things off, I'll make my contribution.

Beneath the Surface: 410 It's really fun because you get to see how Sam'n'Jack might have acted if they weren't held back by regs. I think they're much more relaxed and honest. Plus the whole "feeling feelings." "for me?" "no. For Tor." is cute.

I don't ship Sam and Jack, but in spite of that I laughed really hard at that kiss in Window of Opportunity. Funny, cute, and no all-pervasive ramifications :p.

I think Upgrades is a good one...it can be a little bit subtle but it sets up nicely for Divide and Conquer which someone else already suggested!:)

"Divide & Conquer" and "Threads," because they're the only two eps where we really get something definitive out of either one of them.

My favorite scene is in Divide and Conquer. But my favorite shippy episode is which ever one I'm watching at the time. :D If I'm seeing ship in the episode I'm watching, its my favorite!

Nemesis 322. Jack invites Sam to go fishing. It was awkward and flirty and wonderful. :p She almost fell under his spell. She almost went. :D TPTB ruined it for us!!! Lots of nice fanfiction was born!! :)

well there's the obvious one's mentioned before. Then the totally flirty Small Victories

and Solitudes. Very dramatic and newly affectionate. They were still getting to know each other but they felt close. Then of course there's Death Knell -Jack searching for her, and comforting her- Paradise Lost-her searching for him- Grace -true feelings anyone?-

Beneath the Surface is definatly the one that makes you want to punch a hole in the wall, or the one where they had to take the lie detector test.
It makes me so mad to think season 9 could have been the year if RDA had stuck around, and I know my wife would love it more than me!

100 days, its got the scene when sam admits to Dr fraiser that she likes jack, and spends 4 months of her life creating a partical beem, JUST to get him out

I have to agree that Divide and Conquer is my favorite shippy epi, closely followed by Beaneath the Surface ( even if they aren't in their right minds, I think they really are ;) ). however, if an epi is written by Robert C. Cooper, I've found it rarely contains any ship.

Just my observation. He's a great writer, just not overly sentimental, I guess. OK, he does get a tad sentimental at times. I believe he did write Meridian. But definitely NOT a shipper.

I have to say my favourite 'shippy' scenes are in 'Citizen Joe.' They just seem so comfortable with each other and know each other so well - like they can almost read each others minds. It's so easy to believe they're a couple! And it was nice to see the closeness for a bit after all the awkard tenseness and UST of the past few seasons.

Wow! A shipper thread that is short enough for me to read! :p

"Lost City" came to mind first because I only saw it yesterday, but when I read "Paradise Lost", I remembered that "Metamorphosis" was extremely shippy, too. And probably because I'm really weird and like it when they get a bit confrontational, "2010".

This is just to add new ones, most of the best shippy ones were already mentioned. I can't really name a favorite, though. Not without doing some major thinking... :D

I loved Lost City part 1 because when Sam was at Jack's house and Daniel showed up, initially his head didn't go towards the living room where Jack had called from, instead it went towards the back of the house - the bedroom! I love that part!

What a tough question--there are so many!

Window of Opportunity
Beneath the Surface
Entity
Nemesis
Broca Divide (love that one out of control scene)
Divide and Conquer
Entity
Heroes
Threads

My list goes on and on...I can't pick one favorite 'cause they are all special in different ways.

There's one that I really enjoyed when I first saw it----I don't think it's been mentioned yet. It's "Into the Fire", episode 301 (it's part 2 to "Out of Mind" from the end of season 2). When Sam releases Jack from cryofreeze, she's jumped by Hathor who almost kills Sam. Jack gathers himself together enough to attack Hathor (he gives her the deep freeze :)) and rescues Sam. That's when the Big Shippy Moment happens. He grabs Sam so fast and hard and for such a long time that you almost think they're merging into one person....
There's a lot of angsty longing there!

Actually, come to think of it there's a cute little shippy moment in the first part, "Out of Mind" when Jack discovers Sam lying on the examination table, out of uniform! His awkwardness is sweet! ;)

There's a lot of angsty longing there!Of course, the hug! In the commentary, they said that was the moment they felt for the first time the UST between J&S. Well, TPTB are certainly late bloomers, we knew that a long time before "Into the Fire", didn't we? :D

But your mentioning of "Into the Fire" reminded me of another hug, the first one in "Fire and Water", that was nicely done, too.

Talking about hugs, what's your favorite one?

Lost City...love it when she said his name...broke my heart and the way he looked at her.....priceless.

It has to be the one I just mentioned because it was so unexpected and so passionate! That hug said everything that needed to be said. Jack is always so good at keeping his feelings in check that it was a real pleasure to see him so uninhibited with Sam. In that (very long) moment, all that mattered to Jack (and I'm taking the liberty of reading his mind!) was that Sam was alive, he was alive and that they were together-----loved it! :)

There's also a nice partial hug in "Death Knell" at the end, when Sam and Jack are sitting together in the foxhole (I'm not military so I'm not really sure what it should be called) after Sam's ordeal is over. She's too exhausted to move and says so to Jack when he asks her if she's ready to go. He takes one look at her and pushing all regs aside, says, "Come here...." and, and wrapping his arm around her shoulder, pulls her close to his side. Not quite a hug, but very touching.......

I don't know about you guys, but I thought that "Urgo" had some shippiness. ;)
Nothing too obvious, but still.
For example,

Briefing room --> Urgo is singing "Me, me, me, me..." Jack yells at the guy. After that, during the entire conversation with Hammond, Sam's and Jack's hand gestures are so alike. They are almost mirroring each other. Than there is the gentle touch of his pinkie on her hand (when she says that there is something she can try to turn Urgo off...)

Gate Room --> They are contacting the planet where Urgo came from. Urgo doesn't want to go back, so he tells Jack that they should go to the place Jack was just thinkging of: Maui, beach, small bikinies. The look on Sam's face is priceless :D, and Jack is looking back at Sam trying to explain/deny thinking it... :) I thought that was shippy :)

I love the "Into the Fire" hug as well, but the one in (S7 - do I still need spoiler tags for that one?) "Heroes (part two)" is IMO even better because a) they were all alone (no dying Tok'ras lying around ;)), b) she was crying and c) you don't have the excuse that they just hugged because he was cold (as I've heard for "Into the Fire", but that's utter rubbish anyway). Moreover, the way he turns his head into her neck just really gets me. Could watch that over and over again. I haven't seen the one in (S8) "Threads" (I think there is one), so I can't really judge.

in the foxhole (I'm not military so I'm not really sure what it should be called)"behind a rock"? :p

Glad someone mentioned Into The Fire, because while Solitudes raised my eyebrow, that hug was what cemented me as a shipper. But to toss my mix in: while it's not a shippy episode there's a moment in Metamorphasis that makes me sit through the entire thing every time (not that I don't like it in its own right, I liked Nirrti). When she puts her head on his shoulder it's just so sweet....

I can find ship in ANY episode with my finely tuned ship-radar!

But...

I'm not a big fan of any of the big moments...I LOVE subtlety! Evolution is a favourite - when Jack's heading off to find Daniel and he goes to Sam's Lab

Another shippy moment (well, sort of shippy, in a way), in Beneath the Surface, near the end when they have their memories back, Carter says her usual "Yes, sir" to Jack (don't ask me what she says yes to, I don't remember :p), and O'neill looks at her, repeating "sir", sounding bitter... there was so much regret in his voice !

That's actually my favorite part of the episode, despite the cute and silly lines. The way RDA delivered that line and Amanda's face...her eyes look huge and sad. Very poignant. To me, it gets the relationship across better than any of the BIG moments (a la Window of Opportunity).

I couldn't agree more!!! Their on-screen chemistry is great. They deliver so much feelings through their facial expressions and barely any words. Hence, the moment in DIVIDE AND CONQUER. As all of you know, they actually had lines to say at the moment when they look at each other through the force-field. But AT and RDA skipped the words and used their great on-screen chemistry to fill in all the feelings!!! I loved it. They are such talented actors!!!

Yep, that's one of the really poignant moments many forget. BTS is a very shippy episode, when "Jonas" talks about his remembering "feelings".....and "Thora" leaning up against him. Oh well......why dwell in the past. (sighs)

the moment in Moebius although in a different timeline, a Jack & Sam moment nonetheless!!!!.
The sparks were flying, and "i'll fix that" -Carter and then the moment wih Daniel and Teal'c outside the jumper, when
"Jack Sam you can come out now"-Daniel
"Just a minute"-Jack

But your mentioning of "Into the Fire" reminded me of another hug, the first one in "Fire and Water", that was nicely done, too.I have to correct myself here  ;), because I remembered that, technically, "Fire and Water" wasn't their very first on-screen hug. That was at the very end of "The Serpent's Lair", although from so far away that my poor shipper eyes aren't even a 100% sure it was them. ;) It was them, wasn't it?

Let me throw in another one that I think hasn't been mentioned yet - "In the Line of Duty".

Well, personally, any episode can be shippy if you just look at it in the right way. Of course, that only occurrs with extremely shippers, which I'm sure almost all of us are. I have gone through every season and picked out all the episodes with apparent sam/jack ship. I think that the fourth season is probably the shippiest that the show has ever gotten. My favorites are Children of the Gods part 1, The Broca Divide, Upgrades, Divide and Conquer, Window of Opportunity, Beneath the Surface, and Threads. WHY CAN'T THEY JUST MAKE THEM GET TOGETHER???????!!!!!!! Jack's only going to be in the first three episodes of season nine! They just need to end the madness! Stupid...
