I like the idea of them together, but I hope they do it well. There are a lot of issues they are going to have to work out, chain of command, the fact that she's his brother's ex-fiancee, etc.

But I do like the competition between them, for Adama's approval/affection (unspoken, but you can see it ticking in Lee's mind), piloting and fighting skills.

Favourite Kara/Lee fan-fic so far is 'Twelve' by rheanna. Anybody got any other fic recommendations?

I agree. I didn't like the tension between them after Starbuck's night with Baltar. At the dance, Lee was finally seeing Starbuck as a woman and not just a fantastic pilot, and Starbuck appeared to enjoy Lee's attention before spending the night with Baltar. (Did anyone else find this shift confusing?)

The writers had a wonderful opportunity and blew it. I was furiuos when Lee and Starbuck exchanged blows and couldn't seem to express their emotions.



They will be an excellent couple if the writers let the relationship evolve.

One of the MANY reasons I like these two together is because they are both so flawed yet underneath all of their *emotional baggage* they both FEEL the attraction.

Jamie said in his interview here on GW that he really liked playing that bit when Lee confronted Kara in the hanger. If I remember correctly the Starbuck of the old series was portrayed as a *bed-hopper* for lack of a nicer way to say that..:S and I think they are trying to somewhat give Kara a persona that has been a *bit* wild in the *Old Days* before Zak. And it gives us some history of the characters if Lee knew Kara PRIOR to Zak...cause you know...he wouldn't have tolerated knowing she cheated on his Bro...so I am assuming for now that things went on prior to her and zak hooking up. I also believe that since they do have a history Lee has had some vague *feelings* for Kara that were never explored and his brother swooped in. So Lee stepped back.

Now that Zak has been dead OVER two years and we know Lee and Kara hadn't seen each other since the funeral....Lee is now faced with all of those old feelings and I don't think he realized just HOW MUCH he felt for Kara until he had to deal with her being with another guy.

For Kara I believe that she has been somewhat risque in her dealings with the opposite sex and she doesn't always think through just who she is going with .... Baltar cut in on Lee and Kara dancing....it is a pretty fast moment in the episode ...so if you are not looking for it...you may have missed it. Lee seemed somewhat *rejected* and left... while Kara was dancing and drinking the night away...and when she stopped to look....NO LEE so I think her own feelings of insecurity with Lee all came rushing too along with the alcohol....and as many woman who are insecure do...she took the *love* that was in front of her. BUT when it mattered most her true feelings YELLED :D out

So that brings us to Lee figuring out that *something* happened with Baltar...... then when he confronted her...he was angry BUT he didn't KNOW for sure just what happened...so the more he talked to Kara and she wasn't denying anything...well the more that green-eyed monster was overtaking him.....

Then once he was SURE he lashed out at Kara and was basically calling her a *not so nice name* and Kara being Kara DECKED him...well at this point I don't blame Lee for decking her right back....if a woman hits a man like a man then expect to be hit back. At that point I believe they were both so wrapped up in their own INNER DEMONS...Lee...having ALL of his feelings rushing forth all at once...and Kara...feeling like a total schmuck because she really didn't *want* to sleep with Baltar AND she was feeling a tremendous amount of guilt and alot of her own feelings are still so intermixed...plus Kara IS dealing with the fact that she was engaged to his brother...and now she is finding that she has some REALLY strong feelings for Lee...that has got to mess with her...

So just on THAT level...the writers have alot of fodder for some really strong angst storylines. I have read a few spoilers for Season 2 but I am really trying to stay somewhat spoiler free.... but I know things ARE going to be hairy for a while.... I don't mind if the writers don't always touch on Kara and Lee....but I do NOT want to sit through episodes that have a *guy* for Kara or a *girl* for Lee just because.... THAT is an old AND annoying Plot device.

adn on that note..... a widdle scan that I LOVE!! :D....something to make it worth reading my novel here :D

Excellent thread. Definitely in the Lee/Kara camp. And I don't think those pesky regulations will be an issue for to many years, unlike some other shows. After all, there are only what, 48,000 something humans left, and Roslyn and Adama both agreed that people needed to start having babies. So if having babies is a priority, then it wouldn't be a really good idea to restrict who people can have babies with, would it?

Plus, as much of a pain as Zarak is, he was right when he said that everything has changed. The old rules that they once lived by, don't always apply anymore.

Thats a really good example :) I ABSOLUTELY LOVED John and Aeryn and NEVER felt that either character was diminished by the *roles* OR by the fact that they we a *couple*...... They are definitely a SHINING example of how *ship* can be done and be done WELL on Sci-Fi

yes they are :) the love, an attraction that they denied for a long time, a few hot kisses in eppys, the flirting.. oh yes the firting... gods.. J/A are one of my fav scifi couples, that and both Ben and Claudia have wonderful on screen chem, too.

back to the topic of Lee/Kara, i love the small glances and the occasional flirting between the pair, that and a wet lee is always nice (see Colonial Day.)

If Kara stays on Caprica then there isn't much opportunity for ship is there? But the reunion should be fun.

At least Lee won't be able to comment on how much time she spent in the brig since it looks like he'll be living there. :D And both will most probably be considered social pariahs, one is a deserter and the other is a mutineer. Great conversation material.

I just re-watched *33* and I really had to laugh at the scene were Kara and Lee are having their *discussion* about Stims....

I really had to laugh at the face Lee has...my friend Marimba pointed it out to me...she said *Now TELL ME that is NOT a long suffering Hubby face* LOL. :D

I agree that I don't want a *full fledged* romance going right away...BUT as Farscape showed us....Sci-Fi can pull the rug out anytime...so I do want there to be a contnued build up of the tension and the attraction.

I want the issue about *Regs* thrown out the window...when you have LESS then 50,000 left of your ENTIRE species...you don't have STUPID regs that have no bearing. Kara doesn't pay attention to them anyway :D

I just read the episode 6 spoilers and Ship Mum... I think Lee DOES kiss her and then realizes he *Just didit without thinking* and then Starbuck is all Whoa.... At least that is how it reads to me...:D

That would pretty much suck... which would bring me back to what I had said earlier about the Kara/Lee gender dynamic by removing her ability to make children, they serve to masculate her role even further.

I so hope it is NOT what happens.....because I have to agree with you...one of the GREAT things about the StarBuck character now IS the fact that she is a kick ass female ALL THE WAY AROUND.....not to make light of the RL issues many women face nor do I want it to seem as if only that *makes* you a woman...defiitely do NOT want to offend anyone here...

But as far as the *Character* is concerned..... I like that she is tough as nails and I like that she can be soft and feminie as well...She could be a girl living down the block....Katee has a quality that just makes you see her as REAL in the role of Kara Thrace...and I would hate to see TPTB take away anything from the FEMALE aspect of her character.

Hi, I am new here - season 1 just finished up down here in Australia which is rather depressing because I just became addicted to the show and have no idea how long I will have to wait for the next season to start ;)

I like the Kara/Lee dynamic, the akwardness and the mistakes that they each make are portrayed as really believable - written and acted very well. I agree with those who do not want them to get together straight away - I believe time is the key, as it is right now there is too much between them (and going on around them) to simply forget it and play happy couple. I like the hints now and then - I'm all for subtlety and when Kara yells Lee's name in *that* episode I squeed like an excited little schoolgirl.

I think the time apart that is obviously going to happen at the beginning of season 2 is a really good idea - gives Lee some time to get over Kara's blunder... same type of thing that happened in You Can't Go Home Again between the Commander and Kara. Nearly losing her put things into perspective for him, and I think Kara leaving for Caprica will have the same type of effect on Lee.

Tame and Marimba -- I really enjoyed your vids and your fic. Brava/o to both of you. They sent me to my happy place!

I am so, so digging this ship...and have been since early on in the season. Lee and Kara flirt very naturally with each other, as there is obviously a ton of chemistry. I love how playful and lighthearted their fliration is, as we see in Colonial Day (with the water) and at other moments throughout.

I also like the gender dynamic they have that others have touched on. It's nice to see a sensitive, compassionate man (who is still strong and masculine) and a feisty, assertive woman (who is still beautiful and feminine). They complement each other well, and both share the common ground of intense passion and angst.

Speaking of angst, I am just LOVING the angst between these two. It is a logical extension of their electric chemistry. I even loved them beating the crap out of each other. You can tell these two would have fantastic make up sex! And I do think that if the writers delay them getting together (I see it as pretty inevitable, personally), it will only serve to make their union that much more explosive and satisfying.

Man, I can't wait for season 2! :D Worst comes to worst, they are stuck in the brig together with nothing to do except...frak! :D

I just noticed something while watching TLGOK 1 again -- in the first shot of the kara sex scene, it *IS* Lee that we see with her! Same with the second shot, but at the last second, they switch to a shot of Gaius and Kara. So we are truly in Kara's mind for the first sex scene...very fascinating subtle moment! AU, almost.

He asks her if she got laid...then later if it's anyone he knows...then she's like 'frak you'. Angsty goodness, and super aggressive direct Lee.

CKO -- Thanks for starting what hopefully will continue to be a great thread! :)

Tame and Marimba -- I really enjoyed your vids and your fic. Brava/o to both of you. They sent me to my happy place!

I am so, so digging this ship...and have been since early on in the season. Lee and Kara flirt very naturally with each other, as there is obviously a ton of chemistry. I love how playful and lighthearted their fliration is, as we see in Colonial Day (with the water) and at other moments throughout.

I also like the gender dynamic they have that others have touched on. It's nice to see a sensitive, compassionate man (who is still strong and masculine) and a feisty, assertive woman (who is still beautiful and feminine). They complement each other well, and both share the common ground of intense passion and angst.

Speaking of angst, I am just LOVING the angst between these two. It is a logical extension of their electric chemistry. I even loved them beating the crap out of each other. You can tell these two would have fantastic make up sex! And I do think that if the writers delay them getting together (I see it as pretty inevitable, personally), it will only serve to make their union that much more explosive and satisfying.

Man, I can't wait for season 2! :D Worst comes to worst, they are stuck in the brig together with nothing to do except...frak! :D

I so agree with you...these two have got some sizzlin' chemistry and if the writers are as good as they seem to be well then hopefully we will have some fireworks this next season as well.

I don't want TPTB to just throw them together...as both of them Lee AND Kara have a lot of baggage to work through BUT I also don't want them to drag things out to an *unrealistic* timeframe. This first season definitely established that they have some very strong feelings for each other but aren't real sure what to do with them. So it is my hope that season 2 will have them dealing with their own baggage and getting past it...growing and maturing. I don't think they even have to be together to deal with their own demons....but I would like to think that with the world being in the state it is now for these characters they would begin to see what was REALLY important and what things it was time to let go of.... be it childhood scars, fears and grudges, OR sins of the past and guilt.

I would hope that eventually the PTB would show these characters growing rather then turning things into an angst fest every season with a *moment* here and there...I have watched more then enough shows that have done that....and I can say I am tired of that....:S...BUT I have faith from what I have seen so far....and at keast Ron Moore does seem open to shows like Farscape that did show a *Couple* that still were individuals AND both still kicked butt when the need arose.


Personally I think having two strong willed characters in a relationship can make for some very good drama if written well. It doesn't always have to be about cheating on the other or she is missing or he is missing........

This first season we saw a good example of how things could get tense in the episode *Hand of God* and Kara had to take a step back and NOT be in control like she wants to be and let Lee handle things.... Also in KLG trying to deal with each other as people as well as collegues...the same as in Episode 104 - dealing with each other on both the personal and professional level.

All of these examples would have had some really dramatics effects when you add in *Couple*....

Like Fair Nymph said....you have endless possblities for great make up sex :D LOL and you also have the potential for dramatic conflict, exhaltant triumph...and just a variety of moments that get even more *emotional* when you add that *connection*. By tapping into the *emtional* you also ask the audience to invest a bit of themselves into the show...and that makes them tune in every week....:D

Lee figures out that Kara slept with Baltar based on the little interaction between all three at the Triad table...right? Now Baltar makes the comment to Kara 'Lieutenant Thrace, why don't you sit next to Captain Adama here?' (paraphrased). He very pointedly refers to Lee. So Lee must suspect that Kara has told or revealed feelings for Lee to Baltar...right? Maybe he even suspect that she called out his name...?

If so, shouldn't he be acting a little differently, since he so clearly is goddarn jealous, but must suspect on some level that he shouldn't be, because Kara actually wants him? Shouldn't there be a little pride and a little happiness at that knowledge, mixed in with all his sense of rage and betrayal? Why don't we see this...is he just too overcome with anger to acknowledge the reality of Kara's feelings for him? MMMM well ya know ...we have the benefit of hindsight and can pick the moment apart. However, I think Lee at that moment just figured out *something* happened but he isn't exactly sure if *what he THINKS happened HAPPENED* Until he actually goes into the Viper bay to confront Kara. In the course of the conversation he drops those *hints* we all do when we SUSPECT something is up and Kara's vague answers begin to give him the idea that even more then he realized happened and he is getting more pissed by the second........So by the time we get around to the other side of the Raider and he has finally determined that she has slept with him (Baltar) Lee is seeing red and just lashes out at her.............He has NO CLUE where it all came from it just happens...

Jamie has now said in a couple of interviews that Lee had no clue the depth of his feelings for Kara and this moment was a real revelation to the character and we shall all see how Lee deals with it as time goes on......

I definitely see these two having to deal with some inner demons regarding the other and realizing that the past will eventually HAVE to be LEFT IN THE PAST!!! and they are allowed to feel again...But they have to figure that out first :)

I'm normally a non-violent individual but I actually thought that Lee's return punch was quite appropriate and somewhat satisfying. I like Starbuck (interesting character) but sometimes she's an idiot and far too often she gets away with murder because she's this hotshot pilot. Somebody needs to put her in her place... ;) and who better than Lee. :p Of course our poor boy was writhing in jealousy but still it's a lot more electric than ship that I've seen in many so-called dramas.

When I posted earlier that the two in question never embraced... I thought it was an interesting way on the part of the TPTB to heighten the chemistry between the two. They are supposed to be friends right?... really good friends..., eh? But they never ever embrace... not even in moments of great relief as seen between K and Roslin, or K and Helo. It is almost as if they are afraid to. ;)

Okay... okay... I'm going to say this... I am very fond of this ship... I'm now almost convinced that ship is not entirely a bad thing on scifi shows if done well. It's just Stargate that doesn't do it well. B5 was okay, DS9... so-so... Firefly was nice and in BSG it is fraught with delicious angst. Ship makes sense in character driven shows with well-developed female characters because it becomes an extension of who they are rather than some add-on component to get the girls on board.
But it works for BSG for the very reasons that you mentioned earlier... The gradual unfolding... nothing is completely resolved. I actually like the UST between Kara and Lee, and don't mind if they go the distance (as long as it isn't a flash in the pan sort of thing) but only because I feel that I have something invested in these characters. I've seen them interact on different levels, they obviously care about each other... the sparks fly when go head to head. They are equals and they complement one another.

Do you think TPTB will tease it out as long as possible? I've read a couple of things about Season 2 which makes me think that they will be adding lots of red herrings but still find some way of baiting us as much as possible. I know that there's a lot of "baggage" for them to overcome but it's nice to know that they will get somewhere with this eventually.

The way the show is written, they'll have fight every now and then, probably not over their relationship but rather about some ideological difference.

but then if you watched Farscape, the romance between John and Aeryn was by far one of the most passionate romances (at least i think so), the growing friendship, fear, anger, the hurt, the passion, two steps forward one step back a lot of the time. drugs, death, twinnin' all stood in the way, torture and moments of passion, drug induced halcinations. ect.. and look how they did, together as a couple (last half of S4), the sneakin' around, and eventually bein' able to be together without hidin'.

I don't feel that there's been all that much comparin'... They don't even talk about him. If there is... it's all in Lee's mind. Frankly speaking I don't think the dead brother issue is actually an issue... yet... What's more of an issue for Lee is that he doesn't quite know what he wants... he doesn't even realise he's in love with her... the twit...
The most evident baggage I see him carrying around in the first season, is his need to find acceptance on the Galactica... the need to connect with his father... and to discover his own potential... being his own person and not being compared to Starbuck. That unconscious rivalry is much more a hinderance than any other issue at this point in time.

I've probably seen too many martial arts films for that to be an issue for me. But Kara can look after herself... I don't think Lee would have done it had it been another woman. I agree, however, that he needs to wake up before someone else snaffles her...

I think he kept his word, while there is some delicious UST going on here neither of them are defined by this relationship. Hand of God would be a good example of this, how they were arguing over Lee's ability to do the job rather than reassure him as most friends would do.

I'm happy first and foremost that they are their own persons but I do miss their interaction in these past 4 episodes the way I miss Adama...
I love Hand of God... I know Jamie says that ep 13 is a defining moment for his character... but I think Hand of God is THE actual defining moment for Lee... It's the episode that really frees him from his insecurities and hang-ups to have the perspicacity to make those very hard decisions that come later.

I agree with JB in that the defining moment being in KLG when had to choose between his duty as a soldier and his ideals in KLG. But you are right, Hand of God was an important episode for him. It was the first time we see him step out of Starbuck's shadow.

Makes you wonder how long they've known each other. Since War College or before then?

I'm a little confused by the fanfics who seem to suggest that they were childhood friends... that's not canon, is it? :S I'm not usually one to miss details like that on shows or films...

My feeling is that they did know each other from War College, before Zak came into the picture and may have even served together in another capacity at some stage. Note alteraction in KLG 1. In the mini-series, they seem to regard one another with deep familiarity beyond the Zak factor.

My thoughts exactly! With the kiss and the saying "I love you", I think Lee is really starting to let it slip around her... I guess he's finally figured out what he feels and what he wants, and doesn't care so much about hiding it.

Yessss. "I love you" was exactly what Starbuck needed to hear. You could tell she was sulking because she missed Anders- after Apollo said what he did, she just perked up right away, as if she'd decided that she should focus on the present (Lee) instead of the past (Anders)... :D I think he's provided enough reason not to dwell on Anders anymore.

To think I almost didn't watch the new BSG because they changed Starbuck into a girl *slaps self on the forehead* and cringed the first time I heard about the UST between Starbuck and Apollo... *shudder*
What was I thinking?
This is the first time in my history of sci-fi viewing that I have entirely embraced a relationship between two lead characters... It just works on so many levels...
it's a little sassy, sometimes sexy and also very sweet...
On first viewing I thought the L/K moment in the fenced area went down a little awkwardly... but after viewing it again... I think it was meant to be awkward... Lee's gradually "losing control" and become more in touch with his "instincts". That she could tease him about it says a lot about how comfortable they are with one another.
But what really impressed me also is when they were down in Kobol, their teamwork was so evident. One feels that they could be an incredible force together.

SUMMARY: Lee, Kara and a rescue team are stuck inside the Tomb of Athena after returning there on a rescue mission for Commander Adama who was trapped on the other side of a cave wall during a major collapse. They finally reach through when a mishap with the Cylons causes the cave to fall on Lee and trapping him and Kara in the beginning of a long tunnel. When Lee wakes up, he finds Kara in need of extreme medical attention and has to help her reach the other end of the tunnel, suffering a few catastrophes on the way back to daylight. Kara reveals her love for Anders and what happened during her journey through Caprica, her worries about the Cylon’s plans for human women and her own experience at the farm, and what happened with Baltar. Lee reveals his true feelings for her and how much it hurt him to have her away, how much he wished she’d been there when his father was shot, and how he prayed she returned safe and sound. But just when they think they’ve escaped the cave and their relationship is about to reach the final level, the Cylons show up outside and they’re separated in order to survive the machine onslaught. The story then follows Lee who encounters a mute alien girl that saves his life and nurses him back to health in her patch in the woods. Lee hears weapons fire and runs off to find Kara. When he sees her, she’s standing over Commander Adama’s bleeding body holding the murder weapon and no one in sight. Then the story begins in a series of flashbacks and intertwining relationships.

Ariadne starts having some health problems as she leaves Kobol, mainly because some religious fanatics (a guy named “Spence” who takes an interest in Kara) think she’s a goddess and a leader of the original 13 tribes that wasn’t sacrificed as planned to the Tomb of Athena. They think that if they sacrifice her now, the tribes will be united and they’ll find Earth after a failed journey to the Tomb. But Lee protects his new lover all too well, only to find that he must choose: Stay with Ariadne as the religious radicals invade Galactica, or save Kara seconds before they hit the button that’s going to kill her. I think they can get away with bending the "no frat" regs only because there are fifty-something thousand humans left and as Roslin said, "we have to start making babies". Whether Adama would want his best pilot out of the cockpit and in the labour ward remains to be seen... that is if they cylons haven't messed with her ovaries.

I used to think that Lee is the oblivious one but I'm convinced that she's going to lead him on a dance for quite some time.

The idea that Leoben could be a potential rival has never quite occurred to me. He certainly knew how to push the religious button with her but I'm not sure if that's enough for good o'l romance.

You have no idea how true it is. Kara, the poor girl, is lost emotionally mainly becuase she's caught between something she could have but knows she shouldn't or something she wants to have. She plays games, like I do. It's why I relate to her. It's either physical attraction confused into romantic compatibility or our own misgivings separating ourselves from the possibility of being loved. Lee on the other hand is pretty open to his feelings for Kara, I think. He's a rebel with a cause. *growl* What I wouldn't do to Lee. But really! She's away and he doesn't go scamming on others. He's loyal and dedicated and just so sincere. He's boy-cute, the perfect catch if only Kara got over her messed up past. Her tough act is going to melt one of these days and Lee's gonna be there to catch her. Geez that kiss was awesome last episode. Well written and well acted. And I can't believe he said he loved her!!!! Aweee.... I squealed. *sigh* Lee... ;)

Apparently not everyone thought the tone was perfect... :p (See Home thread as to what I mean) Romeo-Apollo apparently lacked the finesse that Shakespeare would exhibited...

To answer your question... I can say that I WOULDN'T... but that's just me... In all probability, that is a very likely scenario knowing what Starbuck is like. However, personally, I would prefer to see something more along the lines of Delenn and Sheridan or Crichton and Aeryn... something with a bit more guts and staying power. It annoys me that far too many relationships on television are a flash in the pan... sure the divorce rate is high... but there are people who do stay together long-term...

*shrugs* I dunno. I don't think I'd mind (too much) but it depends on the reasons why. If it's for a stupid reason just to drum up the romantic tension/angst I'd probably throw something at the computer. But if it's the characters genuinely changing and growing apart what can you do?

I think a good example might be Wesley and Cordelia or Buffy and Xander from Buffy/Angel. They played the romantic tension but then things didn't pan out and they remained friends.

And so is my penchant for symbolism... ;)

Something that LS said in the episode thread about Lee not being the aggressive type made me to theorize about the "strange" inclusion of the pyramid game between Kara and Anders, as well as the amount of time spent on it. This theory works on the assumption that there is nothing coincidental about the positioning of the pyramid ball/game as a recurring motif in the nature Kara's relationship with the two men and how that is played out. Some, in reference to Resistance, if memory serves, have suggested that Kara's game with Anders was tantamount to some kind of sexual foreplay. It isn't difficult to see that with their banter and movement, they appear to be physically attracted to one another. The episode following this suggests strongly that they do indulge in a "fling" and the attraction is strong.

On the Astral Queen, the pyramid ball makes another appearance. But there is no physical sparring even though the male seems interested. He playfully takes the ball hoping to engage interest but to no avail. Perhaps it is his way of offering the olive branch but the offering is more or less flatly rejected. So the male returns the ball and the mating ritual shifts to another level. The male makes an appeal on an emotional and personal level, which lights a spark and that seems to be a catalyst to some playground talk, which suggests something inherently affectionate, endearing and even some history "Lee Adama says he loves me". Hey, very interesting analysis there. Reminds me of a speed dating sketch where the guy says upfront "Hi, I want casual sex," and she bops him one. He says "well, what do you want," and she says, "well I want casual sex too, but I don't want to admit it, so you should say you want a long-term romantic relationship." He says, "I don't get it. I agree. I think Kara and Lee could spend years getting together and breaking up and getting back together again. They remind me of couples who can't live together, but can't bear to be apart either. Constant conflict.

I think they realize deep down how vital they are to each other's lives, but they're afraid of romance in case it jeopardizes this. I think the writers and the actors have hit it on the nail. It's a great relationship, full of issues and uncertainties and I for one am loving it! They will bicker like brother and sister, love passionately, hate, hurt and threaten each other, and it will be a great ride!

What plans do you think the writers are going to have for Lee and Kara in future episodes?
That they stay in that war buddy rountine they had going on in Home II with the occasionally flirting and fighting.

I just love how much these two invade each other's space. They're almost always right on top of each other when they argue. In the scene from 33, I love how after they fight and Lee walks away, Tyrol's looking at this with this look on his face that says, "Why don't you two just go find a room already?" :D

It's an interesting relationship... Starbuck and Apollo... it goes beyond the physical and yet there are so many layers. That is exactly why I am not chomping at bits for them to "get it on" at the moment. *dodging flying object* :p

Their relationship is interesting to me because, as individual characters, they each have so many layers, so many issues, which make their relationship complicated and rich in texture. In some ways they are quite similar, while in other ways they complement each other. To see all this develop in the grander scheme of things -- the survival and humanity as a species as well as a civilization -- is just such a enticing prospect.

As of now, the aspect of their relationship that I enjoy the most is the childlike innocence they display in -- and only in -- each other's company. It just makes me feel so ... happy and hopeful. :)

I like that aspect of their relationship too. It makes me a lot more hopeful than I should be that the writers are taking a long term view of things. ;) It's the only cheerful aspect of a rather dark, frenetic show.

I read on the Scifi message board that one of the writers have been dropping strong hints about something happening between Lee and Dee in the second half of the season... but as to the nature of what that is... your guess is as good as mine. :S Many of the fans there are speculating a fling... It's "interesting" that many of the fans on Scifi are quite happy for a Lee/Dee pairing...

What happened in resistance between Dee and Lee was nothing and if it as something it was way before he kissed Kara so i dont see how he could have any feelings for Dee, and i cant see anything happening with him and Dee now that Kara is with him for the second part of season 2.

I think Lee/Dee is platonic, RDM has said that she has a special relationship with all the pilots because she is the voice on the other end.

Add in her issues and it's doubly tough. So when a hot young woman ends up lying on top of Apollo, who hasn't had sex in months, he'd have to be dead not to notice. But notice that as soon as he noticed, his hands pulled away from her. Speaking for Dee, who very well may have had sex recently, just because she has Billy doesn't mean she can't appreciate the glory of Apollo. I'm married and I would have had to take a moment to appreciate it! :D

So, there will be bumps, but that will make it all the more worthwhile in the end.

Mmm-hmm. Dee/Billy can't get split up (they're so cute...). That then leave the option of Dee/Lee/Bee, which is fun to say but not wildly realistic.
