I believe that the end of part 1 is just after Daniel leaves Abydos for the first time. That's about 40 minutes in anyway which would make sense.
The exact division, at least, the exact division when last it aired a few weeks ago during the six o'clock line, was, strangely enough, when Jack was standing beside Kawalsky, who was grieving over that one guy's injuries. It was very, very choppy, the way it was handled; you could easily tell it wasn't meant to end there. Oh well! There were only so many ways by which to pull it off; better there than in the middle of a sentence!
If you've seen a Jeff O'Connor or a JeffZero or a Jeff Zero or a JeffZeroConnor elsewhere on the net, there's a considerable chance it's me.
Alright, I know you guys have already picked two to narrow down, but I'm not really a fan of either one of them. So I'm just going to name off my three favories even though they don't count anymore.
Children of the Gods (follows in line with the movie)
The Torment of Tantalus (best episode ever written in my book)
Solidudes (best executed episode)
Actually, this is operating whereby we choose the ones we dislike and continue onward, eliminating episodes which are voted for least enjoyed until only one remains. Survivor, apparently, heh.
