This movie opens next Thursday in Australia. I've heard awesome things about it. I'm definately going to see it. Without spoiling what did you people think of the movie?

Oh yeah...I think he is awesome, but some people MAY be offended by what he says, so keep that in mind before clicking.

I had every intention of going to see it, but I could not find a buddy willing to go. Not a whole lot of my friends are big on horror flicks, and I don't go to a film for the first time by myself. No one to gripe to but innocents not familiar with my unforgiving film carnage.

In my opinion, Dawn of the Dead was a Comedy movie :D, i thought it was way more funnier than scary.

I like seeing movies by myself, The first time I saw The Day After Tomorrow, I was by myself, and I'll most likely be seeing Dawn of the Dead by myself when it opens on Thursday here. :)

Be sure to stick around after the credits. A friend of mine says there's an entire scene at the end that changes the direction of the film completely.

Hope the others who saw it have seen this scene!

Yeah, I've heard that already. I'll stick around after the credits. Thanks for the heads up anyway. Sometimes cinemas around here have a message displayed telling of extra scenes after the credits. They had one for the trailer at the end of The Matrix Revolution. This is a pretty awesome year for movies. We've got The Day After Tomorrow, Dawn of the Dead, Spider-Man 2, The Chronicles of Riddick, and M Night Shyamalan's The Village.

I like seeing movies by myself, because I'll probably miss out on them if I wait for a group of friends to go and see it.

Definitly, it was hilarious from the start and I love the remix of Down With The Sickness in the middle of the movie by Richard Cheese. :D

I liked it, but then what happened during the credits ruined it for me

SPOILERS

I prefere optimistic endings to zombie films, like 28 Days Later and Shaun of the Dead (Now there's a comedy! :P)

I thought the movie kicked ass. You can read more in the Calling All Australians... thread in the off-topic forum. The part during the credits was pretty depressing, but I thought entire movie was pretty awesome. :)

The part in the movie that really disturbed me, was the near the beginning where we see the little zombie kid :(!! that was freaky.

I saw it again and it's even better the second time. I thought it was awesome the first time, but it's much more atmospheric at night with a huge audience. :)

i can watch that movie again and again...so awesome!!! imho the best part is when they throw the propane tank!!!

June 13th, 2004, 11:14 PM
I think the best part is where they are ontop the roof and they are telling the dude in the other building to shoot people(but thats not the funny part), the funny part is what they are calling them... Well, the propane part was kewl too :)

Newbie: Yeah, I could watch Dawn of the Dead over and over again as well. The creepiest scene was probably the opening. The movie had lots of awesome scenes though. The funniest scene would be when they:

shot the father in the head when he turned into a Zombie and then that song started playing that went 'Oh, ****' at the start. :)

Hahaha sounds great, now I have to see this movie, I was going to go with a friend but he coldn't make it so I didn't bother going, i'd go with my brother except he has exams coming up and is 'revising' *cough*

Just go by yourself if you can't find anyone to go with.

Yeah I think I might have to.

It would probably be cool to have someone to talk to about Dawn of the Dead, but it doesn't make the movie any less good. :)

Go at night when the cinema is crowdered as well. It adds to the atmosphere. :)

Yeah atmosphere always help at the cinemas.

June 14th, 2004, 07:26 PM
When I saw it in the middle of the day, there were these two chicks who talked the entire movie. I think they just went to see Dawn of the Dead to kill time. :)

darkwarden
June 14th, 2004, 07:34 PM
Sounds about right, there are always people like that, and it is the rudest thing ever, I hate it when I go to the cinema and there is someone talking all the way through or their phone keeps ringing.

June 14th, 2004, 07:38 PM
It wasn't too bad, the movie was still awesome. I'm glad I saw it again in cinemas though, it convinced me to definately get the DVD for Dawn of the Dead when it's released. :)

darkwarden
June 14th, 2004, 07:42 PM
I'll prolly get it anyway, I have a habit of buying DVDs of films that I have never seen before, if they are sh*t then I just sell them on eBay.

D.C.
June 14th, 2004, 07:44 PM
Well this would be worth getting if you don't get a chance to see it at the cinemas. I usually rent a movie I haven't seen at the cinema.

darkwarden
June 14th, 2004, 07:45 PM
Yeah i normally rent them first as well, but if i have a good feeling that it will be a good film i'll just skip that step and go and buy it.

June 14th, 2004, 07:46 PM
I try to see all the movies I'm looking forward to at the cinema.

June 14th, 2004, 07:47 PM
Yeah same, i try to but quite often I can't afford it or just can't end up making it.

June 15th, 2004, 10:36 PM

I sat down and watch the original, havent seen it in a long time, and WOW it is horrible. There are a couple funny parts but I think it sucked big time. The new one is a million million times better. I've seen it 4 times, it never gets old.

What's that old movie Day of the Dead like? Does it have the potential to be remade?

darkwarden
June 16th, 2004, 05:39 PM
I like a depressing ending to a movie, its just a nice change from the typical junk that we see all the time.

June 16th, 2004, 05:40 PM
Heh, it's pretty much the only movie where most of the audience stuck around until the end of the credits. :)

http://dvd.ign.com/articles/523/523599p1.html

dvd.ign.com has some info about what's gonna be on the Dawn of the Dead DVD, when it's released in the U.S. in October. Apparently it's going to have the theatrical version and a Director's cut with an extra nine minutes. The extra features look pretty damn awesome. :)

The theatrical version was awesome. I wonder what's gonna be in the Director's cut. :)

June 16th, 2004, 05:56 PM
Do you think they'll remake Day of the Dead? I wonder what the Director's next movie is gonna be. :)

darkwarden
June 16th, 2004, 11:57 PM
I hope they remake it, the whole series of films were pretty good. That would be awesome if they did.

It'll be interesting what is on the DVD, directors cuts are normally pretty good.

D.C.
June 17th, 2004, 01:49 AM
Yeah, cause they remade the original one ten years ago or so. Now they've remade the sequel they should definately remake the other sequel. I'm happy with the Theatrical Cut, so I don't really care what's on the Director's Cut. If it's even more awesome that would be cool. :)

It's got a preliminary Australian release date for the DVD. That price seems a little expensive, though. It will probably be cheaper at retail stores. :)

Woah, that is a bit pricey, it will most definately drop, and if it doesn't I'll just rent it, I am saving my $$$ for Stargate Box Sets.
