Wraith Weaponry (how it might work)

I've been contemplating a few ideas as to how the Wraith stunner might work.

I was thinking maybe the energy coils (mentioned in the concept art here ) contained insects, similar to fireflies, that produce their own type of electrical energy. The coils could act as an electron tube to collect the energy from the insects while a electrode, situated behind the barrel of the rifle, could emit a flow of electrons into a transformer. The transformer, being an advanced version of our own, would not only be able to change the voltage, but change other aspects of the electrons causing them to affect certain muscle groups in the human body.

As for the insects. They could be gentically engineered to suit the purpose of a energy supply maybe having a shortened life-span, but an increased reproductive rate to accommodate the limited space within the coils. There's also the matter of keeping the insects nourished for the short amount of time they'd be alive.

Anyway that's my theory on that. I'd like to see them introduce some other types of weaponry in the near future like maybe a Wraith handgun or grenade.

To stun a human just give the nervous system a quick overload. This overload would cause all nerves to be 'filled up' with signals so the brain can't send new signal to the muscles and visa versa. Thus stunning a person.

I was just thinking of that! Ahh, the good times of Startrek...

That might work, but feeding the insects would be tough. I still think that everyting Wraith is organic, and maybe the stunguns work by maybe charging the coils organicly, and the coils produce whats fired. But then again, thats basicly your theory...

I dont remember seeing the coils in the stunguns last time I saw one, but Ill go check. Good theorys!

I don't know, it is a good idea, but it is far more complicated than you need it to be, all they need is a power source, it would be much more difficult to have insects powering your guns.
