:D I dislike Brief Candle mainly due to the awful 'ageing' makeup. Do they not own scissors at the SGC? I also thought that RDA's acting was not his best in this episode.

Zero Hour gives us an insight into how Jack is adjusting to being 'The Man'. We see he still has the respect of the other soldiers, even although his style of leadership is different from General Hammond.

I was prepared to defend Brief Candle. After all, despite the terrible age make-up (haha scissors), Jack is the one who actually figures things out. This is long before we get dumb!Jack. He actually uses scientific terms like proximity and variables.

But who am I kidding, I LOVE Zero Hour! General Jack dealing with his new command, without his team, while worried that Ba'al has them. And having to deal with crazy plants and bunting!! LOVE IT!

but when I started watching SG-1 (on T.V.) it was on Season 3 already! :o so I didn't know about "Secrets" (until I bought the DVD's) but "2001" is when it confirmed..

:D I like Jack training the youngsters. There's lots of fun dialogue in this episode...


CARTER - Uh, sir, if you don't mind, your wound is getting all over my lab.

O'NEILL (looks at floor) - Mmm. Sorry.

At first we see the training, then we're not sure what's happening; is there a real invasion? Finally we understand it's a test of the trainees. All in all it's a fun episode, showing Jack as a leader, teacher and joker.

Watched Chain Reaction today... Jack looks so good in this episode! Not that he doesn't always look good, but in this episode *yowsa* I don't know if it's his closely cropped hair, tight black t-shirt, civilian clothes, cool sunglasses... all of the above (and more). Plus, this is the first episode where we see how fun he and Mayborne are when working together!

I love Jack as trainer and drill sergeant in Proving Ground. But Politics has Jack taking on Kinsey and he's so on top of his game, keeping up with Daniel and picking apart Kinsey's arguments. It's the kind of bullish deplomacy that I think he will use later to blaze his way through DC as General O'Neill. I know it's a clip show, but it is well written and amazingly well played IMHO and I love it.

:D This is a great episode to see bad-boy Jack. At first we wonder why he's being so bad, but then we find out that he's the only person our alien allies trust to sort out the mess of all the stolen goods. Jack saves the day and Earth keeps our allies. Also, Jack looks sooooo fine in this episode. :P

I was watching Scorched Earth the other day and thought, "I really should have put this on the Best Jack Eps list." Then I discover that I did and it was up against Lost City.

So I was really enjoying Jack in Scorched Earth. He showed a lot of inginuity and determination. He also showed some stubbornness and not always the best judgment. I like those little imperfections in my hero. It makes him human and relateable. At least his motivations were of honest, he felt a responsibility to the people he had placed in harms way.

If it were up against any other episode I would definitely give Scorched Earth my vote. But Lost City is my very favorite episode ever!!!! We see Jack's self-sacrifice and a level of vulnerability he doesn't often show. There's humor and heart (and ship :P). I just love it!

I'm really surprised A Matter of Time didn't get more love. First of all, Jack is gorgeous! We also have some interesting backstory and delve a little into the psychology of Jack. He feels a responsibility to Boyd because he recommended him. He can't forgive Cromwell because he feels betrayed. He's in charge, risking his life, and trusting his team. I can see how the person he is has grown because of the people who now surround him. I just think this ep showcases so many sides of Jack.

Fragile Balance: Young Jack was adorable, however, remember that he was grownup Jack cloned into a younger body. While I didn't appreciate how he took over Carter's very capable training for the pilots; I did like how young Jack wiped the sarcastic smirks off the pilots' faces when they snapped to it under his imposing command of the subject. I also liked real Jack's reaction to having a clone of himself. Those pesky Asgards are at it again!

BTW my first and always fangurl heart is with Jack O'Neill.:p He's why I joined GW and he's why I continue to play here!:D (Oh, and then there's the Ship!)

I have to go with the consensus here. I think our introduction to the new and improved Jack O'Neill is a far better episode for Jack than The Other Side. And personally, I prefer the original pilot (minus the nudity).

:D I like Abyss for the Jack whump. I love 2010 for showing us the team coming together to save the day yet again. SG-1 works so well, especially with Jack at the helm. Both episodes show us Jack dying, but 2010 has a positive side to the death of the team, with Jack's message making it through the gate.

I love Jack in 2010. Standing up for his beliefs even when no one else believes him, and then coming back to help his team save the world one more time. But Abyss really shows Jack at his core. He is beaten down. Ready to give in. He doesn't see his own worth. But in the end, when given the chance he saves himself and rescues the girl. Although I do wish the last seen didn't make it seem like all he needed was a nice nap to be all better.

:D Proving Ground is a fun episode letting us see Jack training the new recruits, trying to instil his code of conduct and experience on them.

Zero Hour gives us an insight into Jack adjusting to being the commander of the SGC, and how he overcomes all the problems in his own style. Much as he respected and learned a lot from General Hammond, Jack has his own unique way of running things. This episode gets my vote.

OMG these are two of my all-time favorites! Hard to choose! I'll go with WoO because it's not only light-hearted and fun, but we also see Jack's smart side (as he learns Latin) and the heart-break when he talks about his son. *sniff* Oh, and of course, that awesome kiss he gives Carter... who wouldn't want to be swept up and dipped into a kiss like that??;)

I love Jack in-the-field offworld. He has to use both his special ops training and his wits to survive while waiting for rescue. He knows that Carter will save his a$$...again. But, his sometime foe, Maybourne, makes for challenges that place them at risk of death. And, Jack looks soooo hot in BDU's, black t-shirt, sticky-up-hair and scruffy face! And, then, there's the line, "put.the.gun.down," while Jack's aiming his gun at Maybourne. Can this get any better? Oh, yeah, when he smiles looking so alpha-male!!

all of that Nell and then at the ending there is the smile and banter with Maybourne as the rescue ship flies over .... that grin .... ohhhhhhhhhh .... shudder

oh, oh and the part when he says "NO!!!" as he is talking to Maybourne at the fire ..... oh my gash ..... heart on the mega pound mode!!!:D
