I wonder if Jack is as clue-less about his hotness to women as RDA apparently seems to be? I hear from trupi and others who have met The Man that RDA doesn't get it (the attention from women)! Shy? Bashful?

whew, what I *was* going to say before i was distracted by shirtless Jack...
what was I going to say?....

Oh yeah, Proving Ground. I love his "these and other cliches line." I also like how he so enjoys the idea that the kids are going to shoot Daniel. And his whole cranky exchange with Carter about the recruits. Not my fave episode, but some great Jack stuff in it.

Bet Jack loved getting to shoot a general as part of the training.

I liked "Proving Ground" cuz you got to see a tough O'Neill, and yes some jokes in it too "4 foot 9 fighting machine" or "I wore boots" but it was a good episode!!
If you listen to the Audio commentary, you hear James Titchner talking, he says its totally opposite of RDA!! "He is such a softy in real-life"

Ahhh...trupi and nell...remembering that lovely September day that we toured the Jack Daniels Distillery and tiny Lynchburg, Tennessee together! That was fun!

And I agree with both you, Verona and Poz about the special ingredients. I don't think they'd be used in the same sauce though. There's probably one sauce he likes that uses Jack Daniels...and an alternate sauce that uses beer.

Maybe one is for steak...and one is for chicken. :jack_new_anime04:

:samanime20: My favorite part of that whole episode. Worth the price of admission. :) One of the things I love about it is it's so Jack--the humor is in character.

RobotJack is staring at the unfinished Teal'c. Jack walks up beside him.

O'NEILL: Listen, I'm not to happy about this either you know.

ROBOT JACK: You think you know how I feel?

O'NEILL: Well, yeah. Were basically the same guy aren't we?

ROBOT JACK: Ah, have a look. (RobotJack shows his scar.)

O'NEILL: Ow. Sorry.

ROBOT JACK: Yeah.

O'NEILL: So, um, what the hell happened here?

ROBOT JACK: Somebody stole my life. That's what happened.

O'NEILL: You talking about my life?

ROBOT JACK: Hey, I've got every right to it that you do. I was kind of hoping I could figure out a way to undo all this, get myself back into my body, where I belong.

O'NEILL: Well it's occupied, thank you.

ROBOT JACK: I noticed that. What does that make me? What do you want?

O'NEILL: Well they're all debating the meaning of life out there; both Daniels think this is all fascinating. The Carters are arguing already. Teal'c feels left out. You and I have go a few things to talk about.

ROBOT JACK: I'm not going to give you a hard time about who gets to go back, if that's what you mean.

O'NEILL: Thank you.

ROBOT JACK: it has nothing to do with generosity, believe me. I can't go back. If I could it might be a different story.

O'NEILL: Yeah well...there is, um, a little issue of security. You know everything I know about Earth. Codes, defenses.

Question of the day:What kind of snacks is Jack going to serve at his SuperBowl party?

PIZZA! And popcorn (always on hand for championship games 'cause you can throw them at the tv when you get mad at your fave, and they're easy to clean up). Cake, hopefully to celebrate (or fall face-first in if the favorite loses). Beer, beer, and beer. Chips, pretzels.

Just sayin', at home ours used to be hot dogs, potato chips, soda (later it was beer, too), take out fried chicken, rolls. Anything easy to eat and easy to set out so no one misses a key play by going to the kitchen!

Oh, and Happy Birthday, Rick! (I'm familiar with him; ok, in my dreams.) :o

I think that is one of the coolest thing Jack ever does in the series... he doesn't even think, basically just throw anything that he has at his hand to the enemy, I think if the knife doesn't work, he might just throw the stones next.

Holy cow! I guess assorted lunch meats (ham, turkey, salami?), onions, lettuce, tomato, Italian vinaigrette and maybe roasted peppers?

I wish they had shown more scenes of the team socializing at Jack's house - poker, watching hockey, cooking out on the deck - just getting together to hang out as friends. I really liked this scene from Lost City:

What would Jack have on his sandwich? A little bit of everything, cuz he's gonna have guests and he wants to be sure they all have something they like. Is that attributing too much thoughtfulness to the character??

Not at all. Jack IS very thoughful. Starting with Children of the Gods Jack remembered that Daniel had allergies and sent a box of kleenex to Abydos. Yeah, it signaled that it was Jack and kind of funny, too! Jack reached out to Teal'c to offer this disillusioned Jaffa a safe haven in return for aiding the team's escape from Apophis. As for Carter, well I won't go into all that but let me say that he provided mentoring and respect as she came into her own as his 2IC. Now those are just a few of his many thoughtful and endearing examples.

Oh, and I bet Jack loves Super Bowl commercials!!!

The Washington Capitals hockey games, of course. He can enjoy dinner in nearby Chinatown before the game and a celebratory beer from among the many fine establishments in the neighborhood. And if he gets called into the Pentagon for an emergency, he can hop on a Metro subway that stops at the Pentagon. Or, the Daedalus can beam him there!:D

I recall lip reading a very funny Jack comment made to Kinsey in Heros,
