How do the asgard fight the replicators (or anyone else) on the ground? When they can't rely on their ships.
Do they have handarms or rifles? Because Isn't it so that a replicator must be near to kill? so they must have closecombat or what?

It appears they rely exclusively on their tech. No close combat at all. I think this is one reason they needed Sam's help in 'small victories'. She had a totally different combat viewpoint. Asgard seem totally helpless without their tech/ships.

BTW:cool pic, dude

Kung-fu.

LOL.
Oh yeah, I can just see it. Thor launches a lethal flying kick at an enemy, connects..............and breaks every bone in his own leg. :D

Probably use robotic combat drones for general land combat. That is, if they even bother with land combat instead of flying above and using their Hoover beam on everything below.

Think wizened old master.

Thor (badly dubbed): You think because I am small I am weak; but my kung fu can beat your kung fu, Apophis. Your kung fu is only so-so.
Apophis: Hahaha. Puny Asgard; I beat you with hurting!
<Thor lays the smack down, fu-style!>
Thor: Foolish Goa'uld; I return you your own hurting. Your strength is you weakness.

LOL! If you think about it the Asgard are totally dependant on tech for pretty much everything nowadays. Everything from reproduction to fighting. How long do you think a tiny, frail, naked, sterile genius whould last in a snowstorm?

It really depends on how many cold-sensitive organs they have. For all we know, the Asgard could be impervious to cold, perhaps to pain as well. What matters to them is the mind; the body could be expected to be a masterwork of minimalism.

I suppose. I mean look at Thor. The guy's been tortured by Anubis, had a creepy looking gizmo stuffed into his scull, forcibly linked to a computer, and yet he still manages to concentrate on saving his buddies! Now thats focus!

Thor is the name of many death metal rockers, The very cool God of thunder and rock and roll.

Thor needs to be more of a bad ass if you ask me.Of all the gods to be they picked to be as macho Muscular Conan style bad ass Gods.In reality they are frail grey aliens who can barely even lift their arms.

I always thought that it doesnt make sense that the Asgard dont Clone or build a army of androids too fight the replicators.

Hmm... Thor kicking ass? Yoda vs. Christopher Lee comes to mind... :)

My theory is that their technology is their only true weapon, because when the Asgard homeworld was overrun by replicators, Thor said it was their combatic skills and prowess that would be best suited for the job. So without their ships and advanced technology, the Asgard are just as defenseless as the Tau'ri when battling the Goa'uld, because they even noted that when Osiris was able to destroy Thor's ship, they (the asgard) admitted they can't be to sure of themselves in victory when battling in numbers.

You mean Yoda vs Christopher Lee's stunt double right? Lee did nothing for that fight they just pasted his face on to a stunt doubles.

Would make sense to me if the Asgard had exoskeleton battle armor suits, like the ones used in Alien.

Seems to lack a certain grace I'd associate with Asgard technology, although I could just about picture an Asgard exoskeleton.

Ohhh that had me cracking up! LMAO

That is the funniest thing I've read in ages!

Tiny, frail, naked, sterile genius..soo funny and soo true! :D

Oh and I agree. They are totally dependent on technlogy...bout time they changed the water in that gene pool...

O'Neill should introduce Thor to Governor Schwarzenegger --

"I WILL PUMP... YOU... UP!!!"

Then Thor and Sylvester Stallone could hang out -- wearing matching bandannas, of course. Consider it a cultural exchange.

:their technology is their downfall.
Which would be why they cant save the Atlantis team. Coz they would bring the Wroth of the Wraith (hehe) down upon them.

ohhh probably just coz i'm slow, does anyone else see a similarity in the Replicators and the Wraith, in that they both destroy advanced techs?

Interesting parallel - technology sucking vs. life force sucking. Do the Wraith actually focus on high-tech societies or just anyone who can make a nice meal?
